Complex Genetic Trait Research Reaches New Heights

Analysis:
Height is mostly associated with genetics, and around 80% of your height is a result from the combination of your mother and father's DNA. The other 20% for determining your height is due to diet and your surroundings. A research was conducted to be able to find out what is the factor that attributes people to have different heights. There were more than 180,000 people that were tested for this analysis and it was found that there are around 180 genes that determine how tall an individual would be. 100 of the 180 genes were unknown and are believed to be around different sets of genes that are related with growth of individuals. It is believed that humans have more than 180 different genes that determine our height.

This article is an example of hypothesis based science because the researches conducted an experiment to identify what determines the height differences in people. The scientist worked for the Genetic Investigation of Anthropocentric Trait to find these differences.

This article is important because it helping future findings about height genes and to identify what accounts for a person's height. This article is a stepping stone to the research that scientist have been conducting to identify what is the common factor to identify a persons height.
