New Condensation Tech Captures Drinkable Water From Diesel Exhaust

This article explains a process found to capture water from diesel that can be military useful. Water is one of the most important necessities soldiers have and this process can help them obtain more without any problems. The condensation process captures water so efficiently that theoretically it can produce a gallon of water from a gallon of diesel, using lightweight materials. The system has the capability of capturing water without any energy input. The military rejected the idea because the process required cooling the water so it could condense, making the materials to heavy for them. Although it was rejected, this process is one that should be reconsidered since it allows a “two-for-one deal” of water and fuel.

The article is an example of hypothesis-based science because the condensation of water is not a new thing; scientists used this theory and found that water can also be condensed in a way from fuel sources. This research is important for humans because water is a scarce resource and finding new ways to obtain it is always important.
