Meet the Growbots

In the article Meet the growbots written by Bruce Bower it is explained how robots are being tested out to see if they are able to learn from different experiments, and research is being conducted. All over the World in different Universities and laboratories scientist are testing out different robots from which they are learning different characteristics to help them in future creations. They have found that young kids tend to interact mostly with them and the robots are able to play and learn from them. The robots have already been tested for eye contact, and from the knowledge they have seen that when the instructor does a move the robot observes it and later follows it. Scientist and researchers were able to conduct an experiment on kids. The experiment shows that kids were able to interact with the robot and when it was taken away the kid did not understand why that was. It shows that the robot is accepted into a kids life as a new friend when they meet. The main idea is be able to create a robot that is able to learn from its experiences, and be adaptable to its surroundings while it also interacts with people.

The article was written in hypothesis based science. This is because they are making inferences and later testing them to prove if the hypothesis is true or not. This article is important because it shows that for future generations robots might be incorporated into humans life, and if we don't become aware of this when it is part of us we would have no knowledge of where the robots evolved.
